June 3rd. All day tour

TODAY MADE IT CLEAR WE ARE NOT BUS TOUR PEOPLE

I’m sure very lovely people like, enjoy and learn from bus tours but not us!

·         Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Oxford Day Trip, note length of trip Duration: 12 hours.

Meet bus at 7:30 for boarding at 8.

Then a 1 1/2 hour bus ride to Windsor, entered just after 10 and had to meet bus a 12, so fast trip around.  Sorry no inside pics as all banded now.  Saw doll house, State Apartments and the chapel. Walked by where Queen is buried with Philip, very moving.  Got to see part of changing of the guard.

Would have liked at least one more hour but back on the bus we go.

Then another 1 1/2 hour trip to Stonehenge. Then had 1 1/2 hours here but have to wait 20 minutes for shuttle to site.  We skipped the welcome centre as wanted time at Stonehenge.  There were lots if people who did the walk through the fields 25 minutes each way, we did not have time for that.

Then back on the bus, now timing is serious. We learned as a couple from the earlier bus got left behind and found sanctuary with us.  Now another 1 1/2 hour bus ride to Oxford

I    Did I mention that our guide read from a script, and a lot of the script was wrong.  So that was fun.
Finally got to Oxford, our guide said the tour would be 15 minutes, well after a horrible 45 minutes we ditched her and headed off but by that time did not have enough time to do anything.  Oxford was lovely but the audio kept dropping and her facts were soooooo wrong.  After this many hours I could not listen to her anymore.

Never been so happy to get off a bus.
Hit the pub for a drink and dinner, tomorrow light day but hoping to hit St Pauls for organ recital.
