June 2nd. Tour day

Took a break this morning as tour starts just after 12. Also need to do audit of pics as they are getting a bit out of hand.

·         Well that was a day.  Most of our group had done a tour together with the same guide in the morning so she was a bit lost and did not give us the info we needed.  But we survived, way to much of her politics and not enough history.  She did do a good job at St Pauls and we saw a-lot with her voice in our ear as the play by play.

Then a quick run-over to the Wobbly bridge before heading to Tower of London.

I must say I was not amused when we finally got there and were told the place was closing in about 1 1/2 hours (traffic had been bad and some folks were late getting back to bus).  So we ditched the guide as soon as we could and headed to the jewel room (about 20 minutes in line).  Not too crowded so got to see a lot and had a chat with a guard about the baptismal items that were on display.  No photos allowed but you saw it all on tv so you know what it looks like.  Also a lot of teens around giving thier parents the “I’m bored” look.

Then off to the chapel and the white tower but ended up getting kicked out of there as it was closing time.
Off to the gift shop, another bottle opener. And then off to the river cruise back to Westminster.

We went off to find dinner and we happened upon the carousel we saw last night so hoped on for a ride.

Then off to a Mexican  place for dinner and then the tube back to hotel.  Tomorrow starts at 6 am so off to bed we go.
