June 1st First day in London and meeting up with the girls
Slept late, quick breakie at hotel, included.
Then off for a tube ride to shopping district and happened upon Harrods, as you do. Looked around, did not see anything in my price range, did see some on sale tags but that jacket was 3,500£ so kept going. There are tons of kids as it is half term so I thought we could do museums next week when the masses might be lower.
Bob is getting really good reading the tube map, once he gets his right glasses on.
Then continued to wander and came upon riders coming back from practicing for the Trooping of the Colours.
Headed back to the area around the hotel for a quick light lunch, beer was consumed.
Then off to find a post office as we send post cards to Boo almost daily. This time the stamp had the Kings pic so that is cool. Lady at post office said right now his is only on the international ones.
Headed out for evening plans with the girls, we met them on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral at 5.15. Then we wandered over the Thames and eat at the Oxo Tower and after that wander that side of the river through the South Bank area and to Westminster bridge!! There was a carousel but did not stop but might head back there tonight for a ride. It was very busy as tons of tourists but also a warm night so all the locals out drinking. Mandy said Thursday night is now the party night as most folk work from home on Friday.
What a great night. Lovely to see the ladies again and the day was glorious as was the food.
Told the restaurant it was my birthday to get a good table, it was a great table overlooking the Thames and the north shore.
